THE United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF), in a statement today, has alleged that a vested interest group is trying to cover up the real facts of the Ramgarh attack by presenting them in a completely distorted manner.

Pradipan Khisha, chief organiser of UPDF Khagrachari district unit, also said that the interest group was trying to reap political benefit out of the incident.

“The vested interest group, with a view to covering up the real facts of the 17 April incident which has its origin in a land grabbing attempt, is fanning communal hatred capitalizing on the death of three settler workers.” he said.

The UPDF leader said the spreading of falsehood by Santu group of the Jana Samhati Samiti is unmatched even by Goebbels, and added that “Santu Larma has deserted the camp of the people and become a stooge of the ruling clique.”

“Echoing the contents of ISPR (Inter Services Public Relations) statement, Santu Larma is bringing false allegation against UPDF activists of `firing shots’ at the place of occurrence. However, he refrained from making clear statement about those who attacked and burned down the houses of the innocent people.” Pradipan said.

Mr. Khisha called on Larma to stop collaboration with the army, shun politics of killings and join the struggle of the people.
