Kidnapped villagers believed to be killed

The victims –Nanga Chakma, 23 son of Thanga Kana Chakma and Priyo Dewan, 18, son of Mon Dewan – had been kidnapped from their homes in the village of Shizok Dojor. As no trace of them had been found, their family members performed Saptahik Kria (Chakma ceremony in honor and for the benefit of the dead relatives) yesterday, 4 March, family sources said. “We no longer believe that they are alive. If they had been alive, their abductors would have contacted us for ransom.” one of the relatives of Nanga Chakma said. “We still do not know why they had been kidnapped.” he added.
