THE army last night broke into
a house and looted valuables during a search operation in Ballyachari under
Matiranga Upazila of Khagrachari.
According
to sources, a group of army from Matiranga zone conducted an operation at
Toimathai Rubber Plantation No. 1 at Ballyachari and broke into a house used as
a local community centre and looted valuables.
They
turned the house upside down but found nothing illegal.
Before
leaving, the soldiers ordered the villagers to dismantle the house by noon today.
They
also searched another house belonging to Boren Tripura, 45.
The
UPDF has condemned the action of the army.
