A
SIXTEEN-YEAR old Bengali settler girl has been reportedly gang raped by Santu
group men in Ambagaan under Kolabonia Union of Barkal Upazila in Rangamati
district.
According
to sources, on the night of 27 January, a group of 10 armed men loyal to Santu
Larma faction of the Jana Samhati Samiti raided the house of Nurul Islam in
Ambagaan village, about 3 miles east of Barkal Upazila headquarters, and
attacked the girl.
The
broke into the house, falsely introduced themselves as members of the UPDF and
took turns raping the girl.
The
Santu men also robbed him of cash and other articles to the amount of Taka 66
thousand or upwards, sources added.
