A JUMMA trader was kidnapped and killed in North Gobchari Romesh Chandra Karbari Para village under Dighinala of Khagrachari district on Monday night.
According to local villagers and newspaper reports, on the night of 4 February, a group of armed men abducted Amar Bikash Chakma, 30, son of late Bimal Chandra Karbari, from his home, took him to a jungle and killed him by slitting his throat.
A joint team of army and police recovered his mutilated body yesterday, Tuesday.
Leaders of the M N Larma faction of the Jana Samhati Samiti claimed that Amar Bikash was a supporter of their party and blamed their rival faction Santu group for the killing.
