ACTIVISTS of the Hill
Students’ Council (PCP) came under attack last night by illegal Bengali
settlers in Khagrachari town, PCP sources said.
The PCP activists were
doing wall writing last night at Chengi Square when members of the Bengali
Students’ Council pelted them with stone.
“It was around
10:30pm. We were writing slogans on walls about our organization’s 25th founding
anniversary when a group of settler youths began throwing stones at us,” a PCP
activist told chtnews.com.
He said PCP activists
had made a counter attack and that the clash had lasted for about 20 minutes
until the police came to the scene and brought the situation under control.
The PCP condemned the
attack, saying ‘it was a planned attack carried out without the slightest
provocation from us.’
