TWO
activists of the M. N. Larma faction of the Jana Samhati Samiti have been shot
dead by its rival Santu Larma faction in Baghaichari of Rangamati district.
According
to sources, a group of armed men belonging to Santu Larma faction of the JSS
raided the village of Madyochara in Rubber Plantation Project No. 1 under
Rupakari Union in the early hours today and shot dead Tridev Chakma, 40, and
Sushanta Chakma, 37.
They
are brothers (son of Kamini Kishore Karbari) and members of the JSS M. N. Larma
faction, which broke away from Santu Larma in 2006 over his autocratic
behaviour and indulgence in corruption.
Both
of them have been shot and killed while sleeping.
The
terrorists made sure that they were dead and then left the scene.
The
officer-in-charge of Baghaichari police station, Azizur Rahman, confirmed the
incident and said his men were being sent to the place of occurrence.
