TWO Jumma youths have
been arrested by army from Goainchari village under Sindukchari Union in
Mahalchari Upazila.
The arrest was made on
Wednesday night. According to sources, a group of army personnel from
Sindukchari zone raided the village of Goinchari at about 1:15 am on the night
between Wednesday and Thursday, and searched the houses of Nil Kumar Chakma,
45, a Member of Sindukchari Union Council, and Samiron Chakma, 28, son of
Mangol Kumar Chakma.
However, they found
nothing incriminating, and while on their way back to camp, the soldiers took
away Nihar Bindu Chakma, 20, son of Ajibon Chakma and Choyon Chakma, 21, son of
Lonkeshwar Chakma, from a shop owned by Chanchol Karbari.
The arrested youths
were watching World Cup football match on television at the shop when the army
went there.
It is not known why
the army arrested them. However, before leaving for their camp, the commander
ordered Nil Kumar Chakma, the local UP member, to contact him at Sindukchari
zone at 10am today.
