A 12-YEAR-OLD Jumma
girl has been raped in Taindong, Matiranga while collecting firewood in a
jungle nearby her Headmanpara village, sources in the village have said.
The rapist, identified
as Badsha Mian son of Harunur Rashid of Mashpara village under Ward No. 7,
Taindong Union, fled when the victim screamed and people rushed there to help
her.
The girl, a class five
student of Headman Para Community Primary School and a
member of Tripura nationality, was attacked at 2:30 pm on Sunday (21
December) when she was collecting firewood alone in the jungle.
The victim’s family
was reportedly preparing to file a criminal case in this regard.
