Two arrested, released later by army in Korengatoli

THE ARMY arrested two innocent Jumma villagers from Korengatoli bazar in Baghichari, but released them later after interrogation.

The victims, 35-year-old Morotto Chakma son of Gullya Chakma from Dangachara village and 32-year-old Pohela Chakma Son of Prodeep Kumar Chakma from Bongoltoli B-Block, were picked up at 9 a.m. today.

They were taken to the camp and released after interrogation.
The army also tore down posters put up by villagers denouncing Major Selim, commander of Korengatoli camp, for his role in demolishing an under-construction UPDF office and repressing innocent villagers in the area.
