THE ARMY searched two houses including that of a leader of
the Democratic Youth Forum in Baghaichari, Rangamati district.
According to sources, a group of army personnel from
Korengatoli camp raided the house of Shibu Ranjan Chakma, organizing secretary
of the Baghaichari unit of the DYF, at North Bongoltoli
village at 7 p.m. on
Saturday, 25 April.
Shibu was not at home at the time. The soldiers forced his
wife and others out of the house and into the yard and then searched it.
Nothing incriminating was found during the search, but the
army men interrogated his wife before searching another house.
The soldiers left after searching the house of his
neighbour, Rintu Chakma.
