THREE Jummas including an activist of the United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF) have been arrested in Khagrachari.
According to sources, a group of army personnel from Khagrachari region headquarters raided the UPDF’s district unit office at Swanirbhor in the town at p. m. today and picked up Jewel Chakma, an office staff, from there.
However, he was released later while on way to the camp.
The soldiers also raided Madyo Khabangpujya and arrested Bablu Talukder (40) son of Rabi Chandra Talukder and his friend Devnish Chakma (35) son of Subhash Chakma from the former’s residence.
Bablu is an employee of the CHT Development Board while his friend Devnish is a resident of Bolpeiya Adam in Golabari Union.
They have not been released as of the time of writing this report at 5 p. m.
