THE ARMY on Saturday raided the house of
Paritosh Chakma, president of Dighinala Land Protection Committee and former
chairman of Babuchara Union Council, while the police arrested a Jumma in
Babuchara, Dighinala.
According to sources, at about 10 p. m. a
group of army personnel from Babuchara camp surrounded the house of Paritosh
Chakma and attempted to arrest him.
When he wanted to know the reason for the
arrest the army men could not give any satisfactory answer.
Later they thought twice and left for their
camp without making an arrest.
Earlier, in another incident, the police
arrested Bachchu Moni Chakma (38) son of Surjo Chandra Chakma from his house in
Noapara, Babuchara.
The police said he was arrested in connection with a case filed by BGB last year (2015).
