THE ARMY conducted
house-to-house search overnight in Shankhola Para village under Dighinala
Upazila, sources said.
Army personnel from
Boradam camp carried out the search that began at 11:15 p. m. on
Wednesday, July 08.
The houses searched
belong to MS. Bishaya Chakma (45) wife of late Gogendra Chakma; Shuddhojoy
Chakma (35) son of late Bala Bhadra Chakma; Sucharu Chakma (45) son of late
Bala Bhadra Chakma, Syamol Jyoti Chakma (37) son of Mon Chandra Chakma;
Gopananda Chakma (52) son of Dharaj Chandra Chakma; Shukropoti Chakma (47) wife
of late Dakkala Chakma; and Mongol Joy Chakma((37) son of Bala Chandra
Chakma.
The soldiers also
tried to broke into many other houses in the village, as the owners refused to
open their doors.
Nothing incriminating
was found in the search and the army men returned to their camp.
A sense of fear has
been prevailing among the villagers.
