Army raids UPDF activist’s house in Guimara

THE army on Tuesday raided the house of a UPDF activist and searched four other houses in Guimara, Khagrachari.

According to sources, a group of army personnel from Guimara Brigade raided the house of Sabuj Marma, 45, an activist of the United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF) in the village of Natun Para.

The raid was carried out in the small hours of September 1, Tuesday.

Mr Sabuj was not available at home, and the soldiers interrogated his 16-year-old son Sachi Mong Marma about his whereabouts.

The army men also searched four other houses belonging to Awang Marma, 50, son of late Kyo Pru Marma; hist brother Du Hla Aung Marma, 46; Sanau Marma, 40, son of Chandra Kumar Assam and Sathosai Marma, 70.
