THE ARMY on Tuesday searched two houses belonging to
Jumma villagers at a place called Kilometer under Latiban Union in Panchari
Upazila, according to sources.
The houses searched belong to Tipu Chakma (42) son
of Bimal Kanti Chakma and Shanti Dulal Chakma (48) son of late Pulin Chandra
Chakma.
A group of army personnel from Panchari Zone carried
out the search in the small hours of 15 December.
“The soldiers entered the houses and threw things
around. They said were searching for UPDF activists.” owners of the houses told
chtnews.com.
But no UPDF activist nor any incriminating materials
were found during the one-hour search.
At 3am the army men went back to their camp.
