THE army on Tuesday searched a Jumma house in
Egaro Nong Prokolpo Gram or Project Village No. 11 under Perachara Union in
Khagrachari Sadar Upazila.
According to sources, a group of Bangladesh
Army soldiers from Khagrachari zone conducted the search at 1:30 p.m.
The house searched belongs to Kalahulo Chakma,
45, son of late Dev Ranjan Chakma. He is a day labourer.
The army men asked the inmates of the house,
‘Where do the UPDF activists stay? Where do they keep their weapons?’
When they said they had no idea, the army
threatened them with torture.
No incriminating materials were found during
the search and the army left towards Doyaram Para village.
