A JUMMA youth
named Mulayon Chakma has been kidnapped in Baghaichari under Rangamati
district, local sources say.
The 20-year-old
was abducted by JSS Reformists on Friday at 10:15 a.m. at gun point from his
home in the village of Jhograbil under Bongoltoli Union.
He has not been
traced since. The reason behind the kidnapping could not be known.
JSS Reformists
are thought to be too close to the army and some of their top leaders are said
to have helped the army create a vigilante group, popularly known as Nobyo
Mukhosh Bahini, which has unleashed a reign of terror in many places,
particularly in Naniachar in Rangmati district.
Mulayon Chakma
works at a factory in Dhaka and came home to celebrate Boisabi festival with
his family members.
