Fresh reports indicate that Bengali settlers have
detained another hill resident, identified as Anil Chakma (58), from Nangel
Para village in Ramgarh upazila, Khagrachari district.
According to the information received, Anil Chakma
was returning from Ramgarh bazar when settlers forced him off a CNG auto
rickshaw and detained him at Khagrabil village, reportedly in the presence of
army personnel.
Earlier today (November 9) around 12 noon, 20–25
settlers from Khagrabil had forcibly taken away another villager, Nayan Chakma,
from his home in Rupaichari village.
It has also been reported that a group of army
personnel is entering Nangel Para through the Pump Well and Litchu Orchard area
nearby.
Meanwhile, two army vehicles from the Batnatoli camp
have been seen patrolling the Bara Belchari area before heading toward
Gujapara.
