TWO innocent villagers have been kidnapped by military-backed Borkha Party terrorists in Laxmichari under Khagrachari district.
The incident took place at about 3pm on Sunday yesterday.
The kidnappes are Tejendra Lal Chakma, 40, son of Nanda Kumar Chakma and Mudhungya Chakma, 50, son of late Jangallya Chakma.
According to sources, a group of Borkha Party members led by Shyamol Kanit Chakma, Indra Master and Bizu Mohan Chakma raided the village of West Chaillyatoli and kidnapped them at gun point.
Shukla Chakma, organizer of UPDF's Laxmichari unit, in a statement condemned the incident and advised the Borkha terrorists to release them without delay to save themselves from the fury of the common people.
He said the Borkha terrorists led by Anil Chakma aka Khelaram have been engaged in murder, terrorism, kidnapping and extortion of tolls for a long time.
"Many of them have cases filed against them with various police stations, and yet the local administration refuses to take any action against them." he added.
The UPDF leader demanded immediate arrest and punishment for the Borkha terrorists.
