ARMED
men loyal to Santu Larma shot and wounded two members of the M. N. Larma
faction of the Jana Samhati Samiti in Merung under Dighinala Upazila in
Khagrachari district.
According
to sources, the incident happened at around 12
noon today when Jamal Chakma, 29, son of Nanda Bikash Chakma of
village Jalbanda, Merung and Medhankor Chakma, 26, son of Kiron Kumar Chakma of
village Purna Chandra Karbari Para, Chongrachari, Meroung were on their way to
Merung from Dighinala on a motorbike.
As
they reached Bhuiochara area, the armed criminals, who lay in wait, shot at
them, leaving both of them injured.
Jamal
Chakma suffered wound to his left hand while Medhankar Chakma sustained
injuries in his left thigh and left hand.
They
were at first admitted to Dighinala hospital but were later transferred to
Khagrachari for better treatment.
Both
Jamal Chakma and Medhankoar Chakma are members of the M. N. Larma faction of
the Jana Samhati Samiti.
