THE army on Thursday
night arrested two Jumma villagers from Sajek in Baghaichari Upazila, Rangamati
district, according to sources.
A group of army
personnel from Baghaihat zone picked them up from their homes at Uzo bazaar –
an exclusively Jumma market place established after the 2010 settler attack in
the area.
The arrested Jummas have
been identified as Bimal Kanti Chakma, 27, son of Tunga Lal Chakma and Sachitra
Chakma, 25, son of Shashi Mohan Chakma.
They have not been
released till the filing of this report at 9:00 am today.
The army gave no reason
for the arrest.
