AN SSC examinee has been tortured after the army raided their
house in Naniachar in Rangamati district. (SSC stands for Secondary School
Certificate)
According to eyewitnesses’ accounts, a group of army personnel led
by a captain (he took his name badge off his uniform) from Naniachar zone
raided Borpulpara village under Sabekyong Union at 8:30 p.m.
At 8:45 pm., the soldiers surrounded Subikash Chakma’s house and
asked the inmates whether Subikash Chakma was at home.
When his 16-year-old son Uchchash Chakma replied that he was not,
the army men beat him severely.

Chakma told chtnews.com, ‘I believe the army did this
because I had refused to cooperate with the army-backed Nobyo Mukhosh Bahini,
which has unleashed a reign of terror in Naniachar and elsewhere.’
