A NEWLY
formed vigilante group, the Jaroz Party also known as Nobyo Mukhosh Bahini, on
Friday (17 November) attempted to kidnap Prottuttor Chakma, chairman of Logang
Union Council, from District Council Park in Khagrachari town.
The
attempt was made when he was having lunch with his friends after attending a
meeting of the Jote Malik Samiti, an association dealing with logging business.
When the
other members of the Samiti resisted, the miscreants ran away taking away his
purse.
In a
Facebook status Panchari Upazila Chairman Sorbottom Chakma condemned the
incident, blaming the army-backed Nobyo Mukhosh Bahini terrorists for it.
