The Bangladesh Army soldiers allegedly raided the home of a villager in the village of Shukhnochora Dore, Ward No. 10, in Baghaihat of Baghaichari Upazila, Rangamati district.

The victim's name is Liton Chakma, son of Shanti Jibon Chakma.

It is reported that on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 12 PM, seven army personnel in a pickup truck from the Baghaihat Zone went to Shukhnochora Dore village and surrounded Liton Chakma's house. At the time, his wife was at home, while he was working in a broom-grass garden.

Liton Chakma's wife told this correspondent, "Seven army members came and surrounded our house. I was home alone. My husband was working in the broom-grass garden next to the house. The soldiers asked if anyone had fled the house after hearing we were coming." They then left.

Regarding the incident, Liton Chakma said, "I was working in the broom-grass garden next to the house. My wife called to tell me about it. But I don't know why the army surrounded my house. I now feel unsafe even being at home."

The reason the soldiers raided Liton Chakma's house was not disclosed.

However, many people speculate that the army may have done this to divert public attention from the ongoing anti-rape protests.
