The Bangladesh Army soldiers conducted a search operation at a man’s
house in Napita Para, a village in the Panchari sub-district of Khagrachari
district, according to reports.
The incident took place this morning, Wednesday (17 September 2025).
According to local sources, around 10:00 AM, 40–45 army personnel
arrived in four vehicles from the Panchari sub-zone and entered through the
Panchari Degree College gate, heading towards Barkona Bazar.
After parking the vehicles there, they proceeded on foot through
Larma Para and raided Napita Para in Panchari Sadar Union. They reportedly
carried out a search at one man's home and intimidated him by pointing a gun at
him.
The victim has been identified as Sabinoy Chakma (40), son of Kiran
Jyoti Chakma, from Napita Para village.
The army reportedly pointed a gun at him and threatened him, saying,
"Do you want to live or die?" Afterwards, they searched his house.
The soldiers stayed in the area for about two to two and a half
hours, using drones for surveillance. Locals said the army left shortly
afterward.
