A team of 60 army personnel has reportedly taken position at the Belchari Para Government Primary School in Ramgarh upazila of Khagrachhari district. Locals have expressed concerns over the development.
On Tuesday (23 September 2025) at around 4 PM, army personnel arrived at the school in two vehicles and took position there. Locals reported that the soldiers are preparing to spend the night at the location.
Earlier, a group of BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) members from the Kheda Camp had taken position in the Gorukata area but returned to their camp around 6 PM.
It is worth noting that earlier in the day, a program was held in Ramgarh to commemorate the 93rd martyrdom anniversary of Pritilata Waddedar, a heroic woman fighter of the anti-British independence movement. Many locals believe the army presence may be related to this event.
Locals have reported concerns about possible harassment and repression due to the army's presence.
