Two individuals have reportedly been abducted by the
JSS (Santu Group) from Naaraichari in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachari
district.
According to reports, on Wednesday (24 September), a
seven-member armed team of the Santu Group took Dipu Chakma — who was involved
in tree felling — along with his Burmese boat through Gangaram Shamukchari to
the Tholchara (Gangaram Thum) area.
The same group reportedly returned to Naraichari on
Thursday morning (25 September).
Later, they abducted Dipu Chakma (also known as
Boromuo), son of Suman Chakma, who was the boatman they had taken earlier,
along with another person named Chibe Choga Chakma (28), who was engaged in the
tree-cutting work.
Dipu Chakma is from Ujjengchari in Sajek's Majolong
area, while Chibe Choga Chakma is from Block A of Bongoltoli.
Additionally, it was reported that the armed men of
the Santu Group drove away other tree cutters working in Naraichari.
As of the time this report was filed, the whereabouts
of the two abducted individuals remain unknown.
