Residents of Ramgarh in Khagrachari district have
expressed concern after members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) set up a
temporary camp near the entrance to the Bana Vihara adjacent to Lachari Para.
According to local sources, at around 7:00 AM today,
Thursday (13 November 2025), about 40 BGB members from the Toichala BGB Camp
and the Baidya Para BGB Camp arrived at the location and took up position. They
are said to be preparing to stay overnight and are expected to remain there for
another two days.
Local residents said that BGB members patrolled the
area throughout the day. Expressing concern, they said they do not understand
why the BGB has come and set up camp there. Because of their presence, people
in the area are feeling uneasy and anxious.
It is noteworthy that in recent days, BGB and army
patrol operations have been intensified in Ramgarh. As a result, local
residents have reportedly faced various forms of harassment, including
detentions and assaults.
