Members of
the Bangladesh Army have reportedly conducted raids, vandalism, and searches at
the homes of five villagers in Jagapara and Rajkumar Para of Panchari Upazila
under Khagrachari district.
Reports
indicate that today, Monday (December 29, 2025), at approximately 4:00 AM, over
150 army personnel entered the area in 15 vehicles. Later, around 8:00 AM, the
troops launched a raid on the two villages, carrying out searches and
vandalizing the residents' homes.
In Jagapara,
the army reportedly targeted the homes of three individuals: Manik Chakma (40),
Kalachokh Chakma (25) (son of Barochoga Chakma), and Sukhamoy Chakma (40) (son
of Suiccho Chakma). Witnesses claim the soldiers used sticks to strike the
houses in an attempt to break them down. At one point, they reportedly
demolished the poultry coops belonging to Manik Chakma and Kalachokh Chakma.
Simultaneously,
another group of soldiers raided Rajkumar Para. Allegations suggest they
conducted searches at the homes of Tokkere Chakma (40) (son of Punnya Mohan
Chakma) and his younger brother, Nayanjyoti Chakma (30).
During these
searches, army personnel reportedly interrogated family members with questions,
such as: "Where do UPDF members stay?", "What do they
eat?", and "How many of them are there?"
The army
personnel reportedly returned to their camp after several hours of operation.
