Military and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) activity in the Gorukata and Gujapara areas of Ramgarh Upazila in Khagrachhari District has reportedly caused concern and anxiety among local residents.

According to local sources, at around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, a contingent of approximately 35 to 40 BGB personnel from the Khagrabil BGB camp arrived in the Gorukata area and took up positions in a mango orchard owned by Sabuj Company. The personnel were reportedly preparing to stay there overnight.

Meanwhile, about 24 Bangladesh Army personnel traveled toward the Gujapara area in two vehicles from the Batnatali Army Camp. Local residents said that one of the vehicles later returned to the camp, while the other remained in the Gujapara area. It was not immediately known whether the soldiers had conducted any operation.

Local sources said the presence and movement of Army and BGB personnel have heightened fear and uncertainty among residents. Many people in the area are reportedly still traumatized by the June 24 incident in Premtala, Ramgarh, in which one person was killed by Army gunfire. As a result, residents reportedly become alarmed whenever they observe military or BGB activity in the area.
