A VILLAGE Karbari (chief) has been
kidnapped by military-backed Borkha Party terrorists in Manikchari, Khagrachari
district, raising the number of people kidnapped to four since they moved to
the area late last month.
The armed Borkha men led by Tapan
Chakma raided the village of Dojori (Choto Kalapani) at about 10pm on Saturday
night and kidnapped the Karbari of the village, Mr Chomokya Chakma, 55, at gun
point.
Family sources told chtnews.com
that he was asleep when the terrorists encircled their house.
They rousted him from bed and took
him to an unknown destination.
It should be noted that earlier, on
3 March last year, the Borkha Party had made another raid into his house,
searched for him and when they failed to find him they drove his family members
out of the village.
