THE ARMY has arrested three innocent Jummas from Sajek as
military operations continue in different parts of the area.
The arrest was made at 1:30 p. m. today, Monday, when they went to Baghaihat
bazaar to receive money from a Bengali trader for bamboos sold to him earlier.
The army took Bhalukya Chakma (30), Chiz Chakma (26) and
Boba Chakma (26) – all residents of Hazachara village – to Baghaihat camp.
No reason was given for their arrests.
Meanwhile, the army fanned out to different areas in Sajek
to carry out search operations.
The Jumma villagers apprehend that more arrests are in the
offing.
