Santu group members yesterday kidnapped one person from Durchari in Baghaichari under Rangamati district.
Shanti Priya Chakma alias Anga, 24, son of Amullyo Ranjan Chakma was kidnapped at 11:30am when he was on his way back home from Rangamati.
He is from the village of Upendra Para of Chongrachari under Merung Union in Dighinala Upazila.
When the motorized boat he was on reached Durchari a group of 5 - 6 Santu loyalists forced him to get off and took him away.
His family members contacted Santu loyalists -- Kalabo Chakma and Chironjit Chakma alias Marshal -- and were told that they would inform them about his fate later on.
However, there was no word from the kidnappers till this report was filed at 9pm yesterday.
