News No. 69/2012, Sunday,

AN innocent villager has been
reportedly tortured by the military-backed Borkha Party terrorists in
Laxmichari of Khagrachari district.
According to sources, the victim, Dhanakko Chakma, 30, was
on his way to work early in the morning today when the terrorists stopped him
near a tea shop at Jatindra Karbari Para.
The Borkha Party men lay in wait there possibly for UPDF
activists or its supporters.
They took Dhanakko to a place near Somur Para village, beat
him up and then left, leaving him wounded.
At about 12 noon,
villagers recovered him and returned him to his home in Jatindra Karbari Para.
The victim said, ‘The Borkha men not only beat me with
sticks; they also poured water into my nostrils and mouth (water-boarding).’
A villager wishing not to be named told chtnews.com that
when Dhanakko was being taken away by Borkha terrorists, a group of army
personnel were seen at the tea shop (in Jatindra Karbari Para).
The Borkha Party has been terrorizing the common people in
Laxmichari with direct patronage from the army since the middle of 2009. It is
responsible for the killing of two persons including a top UPDF leader and
scores of kidnappings.
The Borkha terrorists have a sanctuary in Jurgachari near
Laxmichari army zone headquarters.
The Santu group has supplied them with men power and arms
and taken control of their command structure.
