Army searches a house in Ramgarh

The army on Wednesday night searched a house in North Hapchari in Ramgarh Upazilla for what it labeled as terrorists.

The soldiers, from Sindukchari Zone, carried out the search at about 11 pm on 28 January, according to the villagers.

"The army searched the home of Suiching Marma, 43, twice, the second search immediately following the first during the same operation," he said.

The searches did not result in the finding of any incriminating materials and the army personnel left for their camp.

In another incident, at 10 a.m. on the same day army personnel from Sindukchari zone went to the house of Bijoy Kumar Chakma (35) son of late Nishi Kumar Chakma in the village of Mosh Kaba under Manikchari Upazilla and looked for him.

As he was away from home, the soldiers ordered his brothers Metta Chakma (42), Din Mohan Chakma (38) and Kanti Chakma (26) to present themselves at the camp the next morning (Thursday).
