THE army in an
overnight raid searched three houses belonging to leaders of the Democratic
Youth Forum in Baghaichari, Rangamati, according to sources.
A joint team of army
personnel from Korengatoli camp and the police carried out the raid at B-Block
village under Bongoltoli Union in the small hours of Friday, 18 September.
They searched the
houses of Chikke Dhan Chakma, finance secretary of DYF central committee,
Jyotirmoy Chakma, general secretary of DYF Baghaichari Upazila branch and Bimal
Kanti Chakma, organising secretary of the same branch.
The aim of the raid
was to arrest the DYF leaders, but they were not at home at the time, sources
said.
The police entered the
houses and searched every corner of them, throwing things around.
Nothing incriminating
was found during the hour-long search and the police and soldiers went back to
their camps.
