THE
army on Sunday carried out a house-to-house search during an operation in
Kudukchari Upar Para, also known as Abasik, under Rangamati Sadar Upazila,
according to sources.
A
group of army personnel in two jeeps from Naniachar zone raided the village at
2 p. m. and carried out the hour-long search.
They
encircled the entire village and entered several houses including that of
Kandor Singh Karbari, the head of the village, and Pattor Moni Karbari, and
searched for UPDF activists.
The
soldiers also searched the houses of Tapan Kumar Chakma, Elin Chakma and
Gobinda Chakma in the village.
They
found neither UPDF activists nor any incriminating materials during the search
and went back to their camp only to return again a few hours later apparently
to see if there was any abnormal movements in the village.
