A JUMMA student named
Harrison Tripura, 22, was killed in Dhaka after he went out with his two
friends on the night of April 28.
Harrison Tripura’s
another friend, Topesh Tripura, told chtnews.com, ‘Harrison
was a student of political science at Mokbul Hossain University College and
lived in Pahari Hostel at Mohammadpur. He had often slept over at his friends’
rented house at Kalyanpur.’
He added: ‘On April 26,
at around 9:00 pm, his two friends, Gopal Chandra Roy, who studies at the same
college, and Zahidul Islam Sabuj, a medical assistant internee at Dhaka Medical
College, had visited Harrison at Dhaka Pahari hostel and then went out
together.’
At midnight the police
from Darus-Salam Thana recovered his senseless body from a wayside near a house
bearing the number 3/D and a Baptist church in West Kalyanpur, not far from
Kalyanpur bus stoppage.
Harrison’s family lives
in Thana-para in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. His father, Dashrat Tripura,
is a Sonali Bank officer.
According to them,
Harrison had called his mother at around 9:30 pm to ask for money. But when
they went to send the money via Bkash they found his mobile phone switched off.
It is therefore presumed
that the murder must have taken place sometime between 9:30 pm and midnight.
His body bore marks that
suggested that he might have been struck with heavy and hard objects.
His elder brother
Cyclonic Tripura filed a case with Darus-Salam police station in this
connection without naming anyone as an accused.
