PLAIN-CLOTHES
intelligence personnel arrested a Jumma student named Jewel Chakma from a tea
shop at Boroitali in Bhaibone-chara, 12 kilometers north of Khagrachari town,
on Friday, June 10.
According to sources,
the-18-year-old was at the shop when the plain clothes people came in a CNG-run
auto-rickshaw from Panchari and picked him up.
They took him to
Panchari police station, but the police refused to take him because the area
where he was arrested does not full within their jurisdiction.
Later he was handed over
to Khagrachari police station and a false case of extortion was filed against
him.
Jewel Chakma, son of
Bakul Chakma, is a resident of Bogapara village under Taindong Union in
Matiranga Upazila, and attended HSC exam this year from Panchari Degree
College.
