PLAIN-CLOTHES intelligence personnel arrested a Jumma student named Jewel Chakma from a tea shop at Boroitali in Bhaibone-chara, 12 kilometers north of Khagrachari town, on Friday, June 10.

According to sources, the-18-year-old was at the shop when the plain clothes people came in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from Panchari and picked him up.

They took him to Panchari police station, but the police refused to take him because the area where he was arrested does not full within their jurisdiction.

Later he was handed over to Khagrachari police station and a false case of extortion was filed against him.

Jewel Chakma, son of Bakul Chakma, is a resident of Bogapara village under Taindong Union in Matiranga Upazila, and attended HSC exam this year from Panchari Degree College.

He is scheduled to appear at a Board exam tomorrow, Sunday, on history.
