Eight innocent Jumma villagers have been
arrested from Ballyachari and Muslim Para in Guimara Upazila, Khagrachari
district.
The police arrested Mong Hla Pru Marma (27), Rui
Chai Aung Marma (18), Anu Marma (20) and Mirosh Marma (20) from a tea shop at
Ballyachari at 7 pm on Thursday, 16 November.
Another four persons – Cholonto Bikash Tripura
(23), Bipon Tripura (19), Dipto Mohon Tripura (19) and Ujjwal Tripura (20) –
were picked up from Muslim Para area around the same time.
The police said they were arrested on charge of
attacking a police vehicle during a road blockade programme enforced by the
Committee Against Drug, Terrorism and Hooliganism earlier in the day.
