Members of
the Bangladesh Army reportedly tortured two innocent villagers in Longadu of
Rangamati district
It has been
reported that today, Friday (October 3, 2025), at approximately 8 AM, a group
of army personnel led by the commander of the Bame Longadu army camp went to
the village of Dudukchara. There, they questioned Doyal Chandra Chakma, a
resident of Dudukchara village, asking him for the names of local leaders of
the UPDF (United People's Democratic Front).
Following
this, locals reported that the army personnel assaulted two individuals.
The victims
of the alleged torture are:
• Paranya
Chakma (35), son of Krishnaketu Chakma, from Dudukchara village, Ward 5,
Longadu Union No. 7
• Amar Kanti
Chakma (45), son of Raja Chakma, from Baraharikata village, Ward 3, Longadu
Union
According to
locals, the army entered the area in plain clothes late last night. Their
intention was reportedly to target local leaders and activists of the UPDF.
