A large number of army personnel have reportedly taken
position at the private Jarulchari High School in Ward No. 1 of Bongoltoli
Union under Baghaichari Upazila in Rangamati district.
According to sources, at around 10:00 a.m. today,
Thursday (18 December 2025), a large contingent of army personnel arrived from
the Baghaihat Zone in 11 pickup trucks carrying rice and other supplies. They
initially took positions around Nuo Dokan in Bongoltoli and the Jarulchari
Forest Monastery. However, they did not engage in any untoward activities.
It is reported that the soldiers have now moved to and
taken position at the Jarulchari Private High School.
Local residents fear that the army may carry out
operations in the surrounding areas.
