Members of the Bangladesh Army carried out a search
at a villager’s house in North Bongoltoli village of Ward No. 1 under
Bongoltoli Union in Bagaichari Upazila of Rangamati.
According to information, today, Sunday (21 December
2025) at around 10:00 a.m., a group of 15 army personnel from the Baghaihat
Army Zone went to North Bongoltoli village in a pickup truck. The soldiers
conducted a search at the house of village resident Umesh Kanti Chakma (55),
son of Gumes Kanti Chakma. At the time, his wife Sudarshana Chakma was alone at
home.
Regarding the house search, Sudarshana Chakma told
this correspondent, “The army personnel entered the house without permission,
conducted a search, and left the household items in disarray. After the
soldiers left, when I checked whether everything was in order, I could not find
300 taka that had been kept in the pocket of my blouse, money that I had saved
from selling vegetables.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that since the
morning of 18 December, more than a hundred army personnel have been stationed
at Jarulchari High School in Bongoltoli.
