A patrol operation by the Border Guard Bangladesh
(BGB) caused concern among local residents in Garukata Para of Ramgarh Upazila
in Khagrachhari district.
According to reports, members from three BGB
camps—Taichala Camp, Hati Kheda Camp, and Baidya Para Camp—are jointly
conducting the patrol operation.
Local sources said that from yesterday morning, Monday
(15 December 2025), around 40 BGB personnel began patrol activities in the
Garukata Para area.
After conducting patrols and surveillance throughout
the day, they remained in the area overnight. Locals reported that the BGB
personnel are still stationed there as of this morning (16 December).
As the purpose of the BGB patrol operation has not
been clearly explained, reports say that a sense of quiet fear and concern has
spread among local residents.
