Bengali settlers in Joyshen Para, Maischari Union, Mahalchari Upazila, Khagrachari, demolished a Hillman's house and subsequently constructed a new house on the same spot.
According to reports, today, Friday (December 12,
2025), around 8:00 AM, a group of 200 to 300 settlers, led by Md. Shahidul
Islam of Joyshen Para, demolished the house belonging to former UP member Sneho
Kumar Chakma (55) and erected a new structure in its place.
According to local sources, settlers and Hillmen are
currently facing each other in a tense situation at the location.
Ani Chakma, the organizer of the UPDF (United People's
Democratic Front) Mahalchari Unit, condemned the attack and demanded the
immediate arrest of the settlers involved in the attack.
