A Man Abducted by Settlers in Ramgarh

A man named Swi Ba Aung Marma (47) was reportedly abducted by illegal settler in Ramgarh, Khagrachari.

According to sources, on Saturday (14 February 2026) at around 12:00 noon, Swi Ba Aung Marma and three other Jummas (indigenous hill people) went to the Lalchari area. At that time, a group of illegal settlers approached them. At one point, the settlers chased them. Although three of them managed to escape, the settlers were able to catch Swi Ba Aung Marma and physically assault him.

The settlers then took him to the Bengali neighborhood of Lalchari and informed the police and the army.

The victim, Swi Ba Aung Marma, is the son of Reda Aung Marma.

According to the latest reports, after beating him, the settlers handed him over to the BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh).

The incident has reportedly created fear and concern among the indigenous hill people in the area.
