Agents of “Horse Symbol” Expelled in Matiranga

During voting in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum, allegations have emerged that supporters of the “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol forcibly expelled a polling agent of the “Horse” symbol from the New Ayodhya Government Primary School polling center in No. 5 Belchari Union of Matiranga upazila, Khagrachari.

It has also been alleged that another agent at the same center was threatened with physical assault if he left the polling station.

The incident and threats were reportedly carried out by Md. Anwar (village: Ayodhya, President of the BNP Ward Committee) and Md. Mukbul (village: Ayodhya Mour).

Meanwhile, similar allegations have been raised at the Belchari High School polling center, located in the Belchari Sadar area of the same union. It is alleged that two agents of the “Horse” symbol were intimidated and forced out of the center there as well. BNP activists were also reportedly involved in this incident.

It is noteworthy that voting for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum is taking place today, 12 February 2026. In this election, in various centers including Matiranga in Khagrachari district, there have been allegations that BNP activists and supporters are expelling agents of rival candidates in order to maintain control of polling centers.
