The JSS Santu group has reportedly obstructed residents of the Harikaba area in Longadu Upazila, Rangamati, from casting their votes.

It is reported that today, Thursday (12 February 2026), during voting in the 13th National Parliament election at the Kattali High School polling center under Longadu Union No. 7, armed members of the Santu group instructed residents of the Harikaba area to refrain from voting, alleging that they did not vote for the “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol.

The obstruction was reportedly led by Commander Dipta Chakma and Hanichye Chakma.

The armed members also told residents, “Your votes have already been cast; you do not need to vote anymore.”

The areas where voters are reportedly being obstructed include: Bara Harikaba, Middle Harikaba, Bame Harikaba, and Baradam.

Local residents have strongly demanded that the administration take immediate action regarding the obstruction of voters.
