A group of armed members of the JSS Santu Group
allegedly beat and abducted a 15-year-old boy in Panchari of Khagrachari.
The victim has been identified as Sabuj Chakma (15),
son of Deb Ranjan Chakma, from Sukhmani Para village, Logang Union Parishad,
Panchari, Khagrachari.
According to reports, today (Sunday, 15 February 2026)
at around 3:15 PM, a group of armed members of the Santu Group were walking
from Machyachara toward Babura Para. At that time, Sabuj Chakma was looking at
them.
It is alleged that for the “offense” of looking at
them, the armed militants of the Santu Group severely beat Sabuj Chakma. Later,
they allegedly took him away.
As of the time of writing this report, it is not known
whether he has been released.
